We are obviously aware that within the last week or so, some players of NFS World have been preparing a modified version to work whilst offline.

Although we can not prevent people from using this modified version, as of today, discussion on this subject is not allowed as this is a violation of EA's terms of service, specifically the part that explicitly says that modification of game files is strictly forbidden and as such, using this version is therefore also against the ToS.

This piece of software is not endorsed by EA in any way and therefore EA can not be held accountable for anything that might happen to your computer, data or anything else by using this software

Any discussion, picture(s), video(s), approval of or encouragment of the use of this software will be removed. If members keep trying to start discussions on this 'offline version', they will be permanently removed from both groups with no view of possible return.

FAQ's:

Q: Why can't I post anything in the group(s) about the offline version?
A: As already mentioned, it is against the ToS to modify the game files without the express permission of EA, therefore also goes against the group rules.

Q: Why didn't EA make the offline version instead?
A: In a nutshell, once the announcement was put out that the game was to close, EA's resources were already being focussed on the new games that will be released soon. With that, EA effectively walked away from the game, allowing a skeleton staffing for the game for either major maintenence or for doing what's already been done - making cars/items available for IGC etc. In addition, there would be licensing issues as an offline version is very different from the World we have been experiencing for almost 5 years now.

Q: Is my data safe from others then?
A: No, at this point, anyone can drive whatever profile they want in the offline version.

Q: Why are you guys being douchebags about this?
A: We're not. We're adhering to the group rules and EA's ToS. We'd ask that you respect that and continue to do the same.
